Broken into bits and pieces

People in this country or atleast this city do not know how to park their cars. And they have no consideration for others. They will just go and plomp their cars wherever they find space, no matter whether someone else gets stuck because of this. They will stop right in the middle of the road to enable someone to get off the car. Of course, you cannot expect them to walk a little or expect the driver to just take the car a little to the left so that others can pass. No, let everyone wait and honk!The road is ours and the honking is gonna fall on deaf ears anyways. And when you do get past them, they'll give you such a dirty look that it could actually make you think that you have done something wrong to them!

Ok! Now that I've got tht out.. I can move on to better things :-)

Do I really need to send a sms containing some chant to 10 people to make sure I pass my exams?I don't think so!! and i'm not gonna do it!

At times, it seems to me like the courts are running this country, or atleast would be able to run the country more efficiently than the Government. Allright, they have their drawbacks.. but look at so many things happening around you. In Delhi, for instance, the CNG conversion, the sealing of illegal constructions, the shifting of industries.. all that has been made possible only because of the courts. Especially the environment related cases, where the court has shown real activism. The latest being the Narmada Bachao Andolan case. Left to the government, the rehabilitation is just not taking place. But why? Why do these displaced people have to fight so much and knock on the doors of courts to get what's their due! If only the government would do it's job properly. I think the most important issue right now is that proper rehabilitation must take place. The dam is being built.. it's not going to be stopped, and it's going to serve a lot of people. But don't forget those who have to suffer because of it. Don't they also come into your voting banks Mr. Politicion?

another soul stirred in dis amazing country..neha tell u what the beauty of this country is that despite the fact that these things are happening we here talk them constantly not realizing the fact they are sooo big and we relate to them as if something very small and most of the time ppl end up with nothing...well find ur own way if u can...may b yours turns out the ideal one...

Hmmm and what about privacy?

Ever noticed the guy behind you at the ATM who almost peers impatiently over your shoulder as if in some magical way, doing so would make the machine work faster!!

Talking about vote banks...i guess if politicians were marketing professionals they would find this country a marketers paradise.

I mean where else would you find so many well defined "segments" or groups of people with their own special interests and living their lives completely oblivious to the rest.

The slum dwellers, the villagers, the skyscraper dwelling big shots, the PSU employee, the SC/ST and OBC's, the rail mazdoor union and the list goes on!

The slum dweller would never understand why the rich man frowns at his squalid dwelling and the rich man would never understand the misery of a slum dweller.

ANd of course those thirsty people of Gujarat and MP who are waiting for the completion of the Narmada dam would never understand the anguish of a displaced villager.

And the good ole politican...well he just has to pick and choose the group that would give him the best return aka votes and serve their interests - the issue of reservation being the best example.

So long as this kind of fractured society exists...well vote bank politics would continue!

An sms that helps you pass your exams? Would you believe that I got one yesterday from an acquaintance saying if I passed it over to ten more, my mom would live longer? And as I gave a piece of my mind to my friend, he puts on his wretched look and says, 'I know its wrong... but my heart just doesn't want to let it go.' That's our problem. We believe in superstitions because we don't want to blame them incase something goes wrong. Forwarding a message to ten more people would increase somebody's age? Crazy.
Hmm the way you talk about it, you talk about it like courts have nothing to do with the government, are you sure its completely out of the government's influence? That its a separate body? That its not part of it?
And I've discussed enough about democracy. Don't want to cite reasons on why I think its a dismal form discovered. Not yet. But nevertheless, the reason is obvious, isn't it? The poor thing, read the politician, would gain more votes devoting his 'precious' time elsewhere than the few fifty or hundred he would get if he sat down and worked out a way to help these ones.

The car thing is not specific to our country, go to any big congested city, anywhere in the world, and you will see it happening, maybe in a lesser degree, but its there.

'and then there are days when I just don't study and sit and watch t.v. all day ;-)'

I don't know how many times I've already said this on your bolg but here it is again:
'I do the exact same thing. in fact, did it yesterday'

So many topics under one post... Hmm... That was good...

Regarding the SMSs.... I don't forward such spams... Maybe its the trick on the cell service provider to increase their revenue... :-)

yea traffic's a mess everywhere[in ever country n not only here]

n ppl who are gonna be affected due to the dam SHOULD be rehabilitated, n I guess they have all the right to fight the government 'so much and knock on the doors of courts to get what's their due'... Y do ya think otherwise?

niTin said...

Wow, when you say bits and pieces, you mean bits and pieces. So many different topics, in one post.
Parking problem much? In this country it is considered most proper to have at least 3 cars per family. So parking and regular honking is standard here too. You're not alone.
I've wondered the same thing about courts running the country. But it should start at a very local level. That is from bottom to top and not laws that are passed from top to bottom. Of course I'll keep rambling here and nothing very beneficial will ever happen to our country or the world.

@anirudh, of course.. for some people their entire life depends on it.. we are only seeing them from a distance..

@ALex, privacy is another big issue i think. people just dont hv a concept of lettign other people be.. letting them have some space! cosntantly staring and intruding..

well thts the problem u noe.. the increasing segmentation.. and it's just going up and up and up.. there's no attempt to bring it down. y wud there b actually.. it's only in their benefit.very true..noone wants to see the other person's side.. i guess it's probably the attitude tht we all hv..each one caring for only his own.. who's going to get all of this together!

@Bhaskar, :) may god listen to ya ;)

@Sudhir, i'v received tht one too! i guess its just a disadvantage of free sms :) ignore it!

well courts r not completely seperate if u look at appointment of judges and such administrative things.. but other thn tht i do think there is seperation of powers.. else do u think they wud hv been able to give so many judgments against the government? though a friend of mine once argued with me tht it's probably just the state governments.. over the parliament the courts dont hold tht much weight.. which is true to an extent..

ur latest post just corroborates ur views on democracy :)

@AJay, hey thanks! uv come here fter a long time! wats up? got the template from the site called blogspottemplates.blogspot.com

@Jackal, hey don't!!i mean abuse silently if u want to..lol.. cause u never noe with road rage these days :)
ur hopes on me.. ahem.. :D

@Ankit, u noe i got the same message from atlst 4 people! everyone believes they'll fail if they dont pass it on..lol..

@Siddharth, cud b.. i havent had a chance to see it anywhere else!
lol.. so uv been watching tv too! do u hv exams coming up?

@Keshi, thanks sweetie :)

@Denzil, :)
u noe tht cud b true!! mayb they put some employees specifically for this purpose ;)

@Nasir, oh the metro is just too good! i love it!
sms pranks.. i dont mind them usually.. just hate these chain messages of any kinds!
Ekta's lies.... noooooooooooooooooo! i havent seen any of her serials in years now :)

@virus, tht cud b a consolation :)
well i dont thin otherwise.. actually i was trying to say tht why should they have to fight so much to get what they deserve! it's the goverment's responsibility to give it to them in the first place.. of course they have a right to go fight for it.. but if only they could get what they deserve even without fighting!

@niTin, i say wat i mean ;) or i mean wat i say ;) watever :D

yaay.. tht makes me feel better ;)
hmm.. start at a local lever, true but then the problem is laws are made only at high levels.. ite the representatives of these ppl at these levels who hv to brign up their issues.. which they dont!

@Rathna, good!! atlst some ppl will b spared :D

@Manish, :P:P:P:PPPP:PPPPPPPP

Regarding the parking and pedestrain problesms - been there experienced the frustration.

Yeah the courts are doing something atleast and thats a good sign and it make me have faith in law.

teacup said...

cars and drviers!! better not talk about them!! yup...agree with u completely...worst is the look they give!!!!

oh, sms!! this happens every exam!!!

and about the dam thing...it's so sad that our govt should ignore the helpless pleas of these poor ppl!! votes or no votes! they deserve atleast some re-habilitation!!!

btw wen are u getting done with exams?

Well i totally agree on those cars stopping anywhere and everywhere holding up traffic.
My bigger pet peeve however is people who spit.. ewww..i give them the dirtiest possible look i can from a moving vehicle.
The judicial is the check system for the government though, right? that is why we need it so the govt knows it has to answer to someone (besides us.. public)I think you cannot blame the PM on the rehabilitation.. He gave the order .. blame it on the corruption under him where the housing got allocated to non displaced people etc..

Abhishek Upadhyay said...

i think this is a problem in Delhi. I see peole driving recklessly and whenever theres a traffic jam they dont stop to go to opposite lane and fine a space to get away. These fools dont realize that changing lane during jam furthers the problems. Traffic police in Delhi have to get strict.

Sms..haha...I get this all the time and used to forward it expecting my wishes to come true. But I stopped this practise when one by one all my best wishes got married to some one else*sigh*

Sudarshan said...

Hehe interesting post lol. About the first part, you're absolutely right.People in India have sick a traffic sense and honking is an epidemic here. I get absolutely irrirated when I hear people honking away loudly. Man such people should be flogged in public. Secondly lol even I did save messages like those chants you've received lol in order to get good marks in exams, but that didn't work lol..experience!!!Don't study and just watch TV all day? That's a luxury I can't afford sadly :-( Well about the courts thing I guess here, it is only appeasement and political gains that some parties are after. They destroy the nation.. Everything and everyone is corrupt!! No wonder, people have to fight for outrageous things which really are laughable!!! Nice post ;-) Lots of things to say, yet nicely written and short!!

Neha said...

@Nessa, seen it already?? :((((( me will hv to wait :) but its ok! :D i can wait ;)

@catch22, good to see ya back too :)
i noe.. after all tht criticism of the judiciary and the courts.. this seems a little positive !

@Yashita,those dirty looks.. uggggggh!

me doesnt even noe when theyr'e starting yet..lol.. cause my datesheet keeps changing ever hour !! can u believe tht.. i just dont noe anything as yet.. they cud b getting over as late as on 5th june!! ugggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

@Jackal, well i hope ur not the kinds who carried a pistol with him ;)

@Zoonie, oh damn!! u were born too early :P

err...congratulations for?

@Smitten Kitten, if noone likes it y does it get passed arnd!

@Aditi, people who spit!! i noeeeee! i wish i cud just stop them midway and tell them hey this is not done! y do they have to dirty everything.. there r hardly any places in delhi free from their attacks.. thankfully the metro is still clean.. the day someone spits there it'll really get to me!

I don't blame the PM only.. it's just the tht money for rehab just disppears while it's going down.. at each level there is so much corruption. Yet being the PM, he must make sure this doesnt happen right?

@Abhishek, do u think it's only Delhi? changing lanes.. lol.. thts true.. tht happens a lot here! and it doe smess up things but who would explain tht to ppl!

'one all my best wishes got married to some one else*sigh*'

lol.. poor u ;)

@Sudarshan, oh yeah they just looooove the horn.. once it's pressed it just stays tht way! :)
so now we hv proof tht those messages dont work.. thank god.. i was wondering wat wud happen to me. sinc ei hadnt fwded them ;)

I agree, there should be some way to ensure that the money just doesnt line a govt babu's pockets and the housing for the displaced ppl make it to the employee's relatives.. but how?
