Something about my trip

Typed this when I was on my trip, so am posting it just as it is..
Well here i am.10P.M. Khajjiar. date : Sunday, 18th June.
There is absolutely nothing here. Nothing. Just a vast green space, which would have been pretty if only it had been clean. Unfortunately, with cow dung, horse shit and Lays wrappers lying around it is everything but that. Why can't people here let anything remain clean! Why do we treat every place that we sit or walk in as dustbins? People do you really think you are walking in dustbins all the time? I appeal to everyone reading this.. Don't do it yourself and don't let anyone you know or are with do it too. Please don't throw rubbish around.. There will always be a dustbin around, and in case there isn't, there is surely one at home right? It won't be too much of an effort to just carry it a little while longer. Please :-)

I'd thought this place would be quite
empty..lol..this is India dear :-) It's called a mini switzerland for some reason, and I can't fathom why..lol..yes, it's got forests around.. maybe i'll like it when i go and explore it more tomorrow.
I changed my mind the next day :-) The place is very beautiful..Well just like it said, it looked amazing when it was empty.. and clean! It rained the next day, sent away all the people.. cleaned up the entire place.. you could run around on the vast empty lush green spaces..was so much fun!!
Infact, after visiting all the places that I did, I've come to the conclusion that every place has some charm, some special thing about it, which may not be so easy to discover cause it's something out of the ordinary.. There's nothing much in the usual things, the malls, the shops.. you need to go a little out of the way, explore, discover.. and u'll surely find something which you love..You just need to search..

Heyyyyy now I'm jealous...really jealous. Its because I want to travel to Khajjiar lol in my holidays, but I'm finding it hard to convince people to come with me. All my friends either wanna spend time staring at the computer screen or listen to loud music. I've been to Manali and Simla lol and I've read a lot about Khajjiar and I'm still wondering whether I'll be able to go there. And you've already been there sob sob lol..
And I gota mug for my exams:-(:-(

Most indians will continue with their dirty habits lol: it will require a dictator, or as in your case, divine intervention to cleanse the outcome of their dirty habits:-)

Can't wait to see the pics!!!
I'm still jealous:-(:-(

Hey Neha how true. I totally agree...:)

Also about spreading dirt, I liked what our PM said few days back about driving. Just by making 10 lane highways a country cannot be called progressive we need to change the way we drive, be more respectful.:) It was good. I hate when people do things like throwing around garbage or drive carelessly.

Take care. Enjoy

I had been to Khajiar around 5 years back. It was very clean when i visited. It's an incrdibly place with lush green ground and surrounded by forests on all sides . We stayed in the Lodge that is bang opposite the little valley . The Journey from Dalhousie to Khajjiar was one of the best that i have had. Amazingly beautiful forests . When we went it had rained a few hours ago . There was this dreamy mist that is always there in the mountains .

Ahh.....Want to have my honeymoon there :)

Sounds like a lovely place. Where is it? And indeed its high time we should be more sensitized to take care of the ecology and environment. Especially at such places which our land is blessed with. I went on an expedition with people from Adventure Foundation of our company, ahead of Uttarkashi, and I was truly impressed by the sense of belonging and awareness for environment of the people out there. They avoided cutting the trees and used fallen twigs as far as they could. We all collected as much trash as we could in kiwi bags clung to our waist pouchs.

Its really important for us to value these gifts of nature :)

Through some random links I landed up here and your first line brought back a ton of memories back. Khajjiar. I had been there 12 years back. For an army camp for the kids and stayed in those pine jungles for 15 days. It is by far one of the most beautiful places one could see today in this country.
It was extremely clean and untouched in those days. And there would be these pony rides in that meadow. I dont know if it still exists but in the middle of that meadow was a small pond within which there was a small floating island full of the prettiest flowers. Every morning we would find it in a different place.
I dont know if you went to Kalatop which is a few kms from there and overlooks the valley and you get a straight on view of the distant snow capped peaks. There are some really interesting places all over there apart from the much visited Mcleod ganj and Daharamsala...
I would love to see some pictures if you have any.

I have been to Khajjiar once (we walked from Kala Top to Khajjiar, don't ask me why) and it was not too crowded at that time.

But I am one hundred percent behind you about people littering (even locals) a place without second thought.

wow!
Sounds like a peaceful place...where is this place?

Sudeep said...

same was mine reaction when i had been to Khajjiar.. the water body in the midst of the green top would be so beautiful had it been cleaner
ppl dont just have the sense to enjoy nature without disturbing or spoiling it
u shld have gone to Kalatop forest reserve too.. or did u?

gud to see u back...

Makes sense. And at the cost of sounding vain, I'll say that that is what I have been doing. And some of my friends hate me for it. :D
And your wish is granted. Finally finally... phew I've posted.

Not every place, I'm sure there are places from where you just want to run away and never go back there again. Then again, I'm no expert on the subject of places and could be wrong...

hey! lol, I visted a hillstation recently and I had been to this place before...but this time around there was so much rubbish lying that the place actually looked ugly! worse was some dickheads had rented some house next to the lake and were playing loud pop music, with drunk guys dancing outside...I really felt drowning them in the lake! why can't ppl understand that some like us come to places like these for some peace/quiet and that they should not be so selfish and respect that?

damn! just ruined my vacation!...anyway , where is the khajjiar place?is it somewhere near delhi?

"Don't do it anymore? :O :O"
I meant, being all fussy about dropping stuff on the roads. I don't let them do it. And that's why they get irritated. That's what I meant. :(
